In Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, open your Home Library by pressing the Option key while in the Go menu, and select Library.
Connect the drive to the computer—unplug it and reconnect it if it’s already connected—and you’ll see it under the “/Volumes” directory. In a Finder window, you can click Go > Go to Folder and type “/Volumes” into the box to access it. It won’t pop up automatically and appear on your desktop like drives normally do.

If you are not aware of any app needing FUSE you can remove it. You should see an icon in System Preferences for FUSE. You can remove or update from there:
diskutil list
FUSE for macOS is a successor to MacFUSE, which has been used as a software building block by dozens of products, but is no longer being maintained.

FUSE works by providing a behind-the-scenes interface between Apple’s storage routines and specially programmed modules that you install on your Mac. These modules can read various storage formats, and then, with FUSE’s help, can be mounted and accessed as a drive-like storage medium. For instance, if you have several cloud-based storage accounts, you can write a small module that will connect all of these services with FUSE. You can then mount them as a single volume on the system, much like you’d plugged in a USB drive.
It was sometimes necessary in older mac OSX to have access to other file systems. there were (older) applications that needed this.
Thank you all for your answers. I was not sure what it was and wanted to know whether to uninstall it. There was a button to "Uninstall". Funny thing is that when I clicked on it it looked like it was uninstalling but then said OFXFUSE Does Not Appear to Be Installed" but the spinning wheel kept going for awhile. THE ICON IS STILL IN MY SYSTEM PREFERENCES. I cannot drag it to the trash any way I try. Please let me know if this is the best way to UNINSTALL it.
